TOKYO – February 23 2012 – Alps Electric in Japan collectively acquired ISO 9001:2008 which is an international standard of a guarantee-of-quality management system, and ISO/TS 16949:2009, which is the quality management systems (QMS) for the auto industry, as of January 27, 2012.
Until this moment, Alps acquired these ISO standards by each old Business Units. This unified acquisition was achieved in order to unify our quality standards in the whole company.
All Alps’ factories in the world acquired ISO9001/TS16949 depending upon the product they were manufacturing.
At the time of the structural reform in 2009, Alps changed its organization from business related to function related. At the same time, Alps also started the approach for unified acquisition so as to match the new organization philosophy.
By this approach, Alps succeeded to develop the common quality policy and target and to establish a new optimized system in the whole company instead of old system to fit the business related organization. In the process, Alps has taken the superior systems having each old Business Unit independently into the new system.
In addition, this unified acquisition brings trust and security to our customers, even it will decease customers’ responsibilities to the process of evaluation and inspection.
