By introducing advanced technologies to its unique on-board electronics systems, the Automotive Products Division has developed a series of devices and systems that improve safety and comfort while reducing environmental impact. These include the Haptic Commander™, which uses feedback technology to achieve haptic™ control, steering modules that incorporate various control switches, air-conditioning operation units, and passive keyless entry systems. All of these devices and systems bring greater safety, comfort and convenience to everyday driving.

Cars are beginning to incorporate driver support systems that allow safer vehicle control. The Automotive Products Division brings together proprietary technologies from each of our other divisions to develop new safety-enhancement systems for cars. One example is our highly regarded battery-free TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), which resolves the problems inherent with battery-powered TPMSs, related to service life, temperature resistance, weight and environmental impact.

Car cockpit for next generation
As car makers begin to offer more sophisticated interior functions made possible by advanced electronics, Alps is offering a series of cockpit systems that improve comfort and boost automotive reliability. The company has combined capacitance sensing technology with approach sensors to create a 3D input panel that determines whether the driver or passenger uses a certain function more often, so the operation menu can be tailored accordingly. The company has also combined the Touch Motion™ Sensor and Forcereactor™, which generates vibrations, to create a "blind input panel" that improves safety by allowing drivers to control many functions without taking their eyes from the road.
