Today's smaller, thinner, sophisticated digital devices require board-to-board interconnection with higher density and reliability. The Mechatronic Devices Division, drawing on the advanced contact, material and spring design technologies it has developed as a maker of switches and connectors, has created innovative connectors in which spiralwound springs are pressed against electrodes. This connection technology makes it easier to mount and dismount boards and components. It offers a number of other advantages too, including reduced contact load, higher reliability, and outstanding high-frequency characteristics.
