Alps Alpine Europe – building up Business with a Meaning
With a global population expected to rise to 10 billion people in 2050 and a global economy expected to double over the same period, urbanization, automation, and the rise of living standards will significantly increase the demand for energy and service. While critical processes cannot be stopped it is clear that energy efficient solutions are desperately needed to reduce CO2 emissions. Climate change is a complex and urgent topic, but we are convinced that we must act now. Sustainability is a clear strategic priority for Alps Alpine with ambitious goals for 2030.
Stakeholders are looking for guidance and help on how to reduce CO2 emissions and at the same time - rightly so - the industry is facing an increasing pressure from consumers, investors, and regulators for fast and effective actions on environmental, social and governance sustainability. We must promote and leverage sustainability in the discussion with our stakeholders because together we can be the solution and we can provide solutions.
Energy efficiency and circular economy is the most cost-effective way to reduce CO2 emissions and is a big opportunity globally for “Business with a Meaning”.
Scope 1 reductions of direct emissions from our factories and buildings, Scope 2 indirect emissions from electricity and district heat and Scope 3 upstream and downstream emission improvements in our value chain already are considered a given in today's world.
On top of these Alps Alpine is focusing on scope 4 total emissions avoided at our customers’ end thanks to the use of Alps Alpine energy efficient products and solutions in the areas of

  1. Decarbonization. With attractive Alps Alpine solutions to accelerate the transition to use the renewable energies for example by making an e-bike city commute safe and a real professional alternative to the use of the car.
  2. Sufficiency. The use of fewer products and services by the reuse of assets, materials and transports. We provide ideas how to realize a circular economy and provide real value and benefit like our Asset Tracking Solutions which make the reuse of products visible and profitable for our customers and at the same time reduce traffic and material waste in a smart logistics world.
  3. Efficiency. By using less energy for providing the same number of products and services in the market. We provide solutions to monitor energy efficiency and a more productive use of machinery and equipment for example with our Industrial Condition Monitoring Solutions and the efficiency improving coreless Current Sensors.

A fourth industrial revolution harnessing artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things is taking shape drawing on increasingly sophisticated communication infrastructure. In the automotive industry the so-called CASE (connected cars, autonomous driving, sharing and services, and electric vehicles) and MaaS (Mobility as a Service) trends are causing a fundamental structural transformation. These developments are causing major changes to the way we work and lead our lives.
