Dalian Alps Electronics Co., Ltd., a Chinese subsidiary of Alps
Alpine Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 6770; President & CEO: Toshihiro Kuriyama), has
obtained an “A” classification from the Volvo Car Group’s Torslanda plant
based on its fiscal 2018 evaluation using the Materials Management Operations
Guidelines/Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE) tool. (Codes: BPUFC to BP2TH)
MMOG/LE is a self-assessment tool used to determine the efficiency
of materials management at company production facilities. In seeking continual
improvements to global production and supply activities, European and American
automakers now ask suppliers to apply MMOG/LE, which they then audit.
Dalian Alps Electronics, an Alps Alpine production base, conducted
a self-assessment in fiscal 2018 and obtained an “A” classification (the
highest) following an audit by Volvo Cars’ Torslanda plant. The result is
recognition of not only improvements achieved in logistics, but also close
coordination between sales and manufacturing functions.
Dalian Alps Electronics was one of nine suppliers worldwide
selected at a presentation ceremony at Volvo Cars’ Asia Pacific headquarters
in Shanghai, China, on May 24.
The Alps Alpine Group will continue making improvements to
production operations to be able to deliver products of a high quality to
Volvo Cars and other automakers.
